About us
Following the success of the BRIDGE 60+ programme, both in Poland and worldwide, the creation of more than 340 clubs where older people can meet and learn to play and play bridge, thus fulfilling our objectives: the prevention of social exclusion, the integration of environments and generations, the activation of older people and the prevention of dementia, we decided to study the effects of this programme using scientific methods.
From the beginning, the BRIDGE 60+ project was of interest to researchers, firstly from Imperial College of London, Stirling University and Nicolaus Copernicus University.
The author and implementer of the BRIDGE 60+ programme, Marek Małysa, Ph D, became the head of the 2019-2022 Commission “Bridge and Science” of the World Bridge Federation (WBF), which made it possible not only to combine the research of these universities, but also to attract the interest of scholars from all over the world. The results presented by Marek Małysa at the WBF Seminars in Medellin, Capetown, Singapore and Rome, and at the Alzheimer Europe Conferences in Berlin and Barcelona, received great interest.
This prompted us to create the ‘Bridge to the People’ Foundation to continue the activities, fund the research and promote the results, allowing them to be implemented.
